High-performance Power Transformer
As one of the most core basic equipment in the modern power system, power transformers play a vital role in the stable transmission of electricity, the safe operation of the power grid, and the efficient use of energy. The core power equipment relies on the principle of electromagnetic induction to realize flexible voltage conversion, and is a key hub for connecting the power generation terminal, the long-distance transmission network and the terminal power load. High-performance power transformers are a necessary guarantee for the safe, economical and stable operation of the entire power grid.

Voltage conversion is the most basic and core function of power transformers. The power generation voltage of power plants is usually in the medium and low voltage range of 6 kV to 20 kV, which cannot meet the needs of large-capacity and long-distance transmission. In order to reduce the power loss caused by line resistance, the step-up transformer can increase the voltage to the UHV level of 500 kV or even 1000 kV, greatly reducing the transmission current and effectively improving the power transmission efficiency. When the electrical energy is delivered to the city and industrial load center, the step-down transformer will gradually reduce the voltage to 35 kV, 10 kV and 400 volts, which is fully adapted to the voltage standards of industrial production, commercial supporting facilities and residents' daily electricity consumption. This hierarchical voltage regulation mode perfectly takes into account the economy of long-distance transmission and the safety of terminal electricity consumption
In addition to the basic transformer function, the power transformer also has two key auxiliary functions, electrical isolation and impedance matching. The electrical isolation design can effectively cut off the fault current loop, prevent high-voltage from entering the low-voltage equipment and cause damage, and greatly reduce the hidden dangers of power grid operation. Reasonable impedance matching can further optimize the transmission conditions and minimize the energy loss in the power transmission process. Most modern power transformers are equipped with intelligent monitoring modules such as temperature, gas, and pressure, which can collect operating data in real time and predict equipment failures in advance, so as to comprehensively improve the reliability of power grid operation.

Driven by the global carbon neutrality goal, power transformer technology continues to be upgraded iteratively. The new energy-saving transformer adopts new materials such as amorphous alloy iron core and low-loss silicon steel, which can reduce no-load loss by more than 30%. From traditional oil-immersed transformers to the upgrading of innovative categories such as dry-type and gas-insulated transformers, they are accurately adapted to the development needs of green, safe and low-carbon power grids, and provide solid technical support for the transformation of the global energy structure and the construction of smart grids.
