Components of Switchgear
Switchgear is a vital complete set of electrical devices in the power system, which is composed of a number of core components that cooperate with each other and work together. Depending on the equipment usage scenario, voltage level and functional requirements, there will be certain differences in the configuration of each component. Its core components and functional characteristics are as follows:
Circuit Breakers
Circuit breakers are the core equipment of the power system protection system, which are mainly used to avoid overload, short circuit and damage caused by various power failures to the electrical system.When abnormal faults such as overcurrent and short circuit occur in the circuit, the circuit breaker can quickly cut off the loop current and block the spread of the fault.The stable operation of the equipment is the key to ensuring the overall safety of the power network and improving the reliability of power supply.
Fault Interrupters
The fault circuit breaker belongs to an automated mechanical control device and has the ability to carry, turn on and break the normal working current.The equipment can independently monitor the fault status of the circuit, and once the fault current is detected, it can automatically complete the circuit breaking operation and isolate the fault line in time.It should be noted that the device can only realize fault tripping and power failure, and does not have an automatic reclosing function. At the same time, it is equipped with a dedicated control element for accurately identifying overcurrent signals and co-ordinating equipment actions.
Disconnect Switches
The core role of the isolation switch is to provide safety protection for the maintenance and maintenance of electrical equipment.The equipment can be physically disconnected to completely isolate the electrical equipment to be repaired from the power supply, forming an obvious disconnection point, effectively eliminating the risk of live operation, and providing core protection for the operation safety of on-site operation and maintenance personnel. Fuses
Fuses are basic circuit protection components, and their core role is to protect circuits and electrical equipment from overcurrent damage.When the loop current exceeds the preset safety threshold of the equipment, the fuse will actively cut off the circuit by fusing its own melt, and quickly terminate the abnormal power supply, so as to avoid power accidents such as equipment burning and line damage caused by overcurrent.
Relays
Relays are mainly used for real-time monitoring of various electrical parameters of the power system, and at the same time assume the core functions of system control and protection.During the operation of switchgear, relays can quickly capture abnormal fluctuations in voltage, current and other parameters, trigger protection and regulation actions in a timely manner, realize automatic control of equipment operation, effectively maintain the operating stability of the power system, and ensure the integrity of the overall working conditions of the power grid.
Control Panels
The control panel is the centralized control and monitoring core of the complete set of switchgear, and the core carrier for operators to control the operation of the equipment. The panel integrates various control buttons, status indicators, data monitoring instruments and other supporting devices, which can realize real-time viewing of the operating status of the equipment, adjustment of functional parameters, and switching of operating modes, and directly support the normal operation, monitoring and operation and maintenance control of the switchgear.
